GOLDEN VISA

The Portuguese golden visa programme was launched by the Portuguese government in 2012 to stimulate investment in Portugal and has since encouraged several billion Euros in real estate investment and over 2,000 family applications each year. It is one the most popular programs in Europe.

GET AN EUROPEAN RESIDENCE PERMIT

This programme is the easiest way to get a temporary residence permit that is valid for a period of one year from the date on which the permit was issued, and is renewable for successive periods of two years. The temporary permit might become permanent after 5 years if the required conditions uphold.

To apply to the Golden Visa Programme you'll need to make one of the following investments:

​

1) Purchase of investment fund units from 500.000,00€;

​

2) Supporting art and restoring cultural heritage from 250.000,00€;

 

3) Creation of, at least, 10 workplaces;

 

4) Investment in research activities from 500.000,00€

 

5) Business investments from 500.000,00€;

RENEW THE RESIDENCE PERMIT

In order to be able to renew their residence permit the applicants must prove that they remained in Portugal for, at least, 7 days in the first year, consecutive or not, and 14 days in each subsequent period of 2 years, consecutive or not.

 

 

ACQUISITION OF PORTUGUESE NATIONALITY

Any person that has resided legally in Portugal for at least six years, using either a temporary residence permit, or a permanent residence permit, is qualified for the acquisition of the Portuguese nationality.

FAMILY REUNIFICATION
The holders of the Golden Visas can apply to the family reunification in accordance with the provisions of the local law that grant to a citizen with a valid residence permit the right to be with his family.
